Always Knew You'd Find Me

Always Knew You'd Find Me

Although this is a song I wrote some time ago, it was never properly finished, so I decided to work on it and get that done. Steve shot the film and we did the edit together. It was shot during the heatewave and took us several visits to the location( luckily very close to home), getting up before 6 to manage some footage before the heat of the day kicked in. It seems imposiible now, with the rain pouring down, that it was ever that hot! The birds in the video were such a bit of luck, they fly in and out of their homes in the structure of the building, all day, from daybreak onward, feeding their babies. Long may that continue. We need to conserve our planet for our children and grandchildren into the long future. It was quite a while since I’d played and sung this song, I had doubts about being able to do it at all. Since having a lobe of lung removed I have had to learn to use my voice differently, there were times when I wondered if I would actually be able to sing at all. But where there is a will, there is always a way. I now sing closer to the mic, try not to push too hard and try to embrace the voice I now have, rather then be sad for the difference. All the time I’m still able to sing and play, I reckon I’m on the winning side!
We are now working on the next video, the song is already recorded, mixed and mastered , ready to go. Filming is challange, we’ve had to learn a whole new set of skills and continue on that path. There seems always to be another bit of equipment that is needed to achieve the look we want, about the same as the recording studio really! You’re never done. However, the music and filming is still at the heart of our life and will continue to be so.
