Keep The Home Fires Burning

Keep The Home Fires Burning

After a long break, we are back to recording and filming. With some new cameras, we are on a steep learning curve, but enjoying getting our heads around how to achieve better results. We have been restricted by the usual unreliable weather, but at least we have been able to find some good locations for when it is not actually raining. Cameras don’t like to get wet and neither do I! I’ve wanted to do my own version of Home Fires for some time. The sentiments are still relevant but the style is so set in the era in which it was written, that I think these are not received. Hence my version. Done very simply, with just my guitar and voice. Sadly, it seems that nothing has been learnt in the years since the song was written over 100 years ago. Too many deaths worldwide, now, as then. I have photos of family memebers from this time and that’s what gave me the idea to use two photos in the video. One that the son leaves for his mother, one, that he takes with him, of her. Like so many others, he didn’t renturn to his family.
